From Laurens, Iowa

We, the members of Pocahontas Co., Iowa, met in church council with elders John Early and J. W. Trostle Sept. 12, to organize a church.  This church is to be called Stony Lake church, and consists of ten members.  The writer was chosen Secretary and Treasurer, Eld, Early was chosen to take the oversight of the church.  A choice was held for a deacon, which resulted in calling Bro. F. C. Delp to the work.  Sister May Landner was chosen solicitor.

A love-feast was held in the afternoon.  The meeting opened at 3:30 P. M.  After preaching, baptism was administered to at dear sister.  Others, we think, are not far from the kingdom.  This is the first Communion meeting ever held in the County.  The members all seemed to enjoy the meeting. Eld. J. W. Trostle did the preaching, and officiated.  He also preached on Sunday forenoon and evening to a fair audience.  Good impressions were made, which, we trust, will bring forth fruit to God, and eternal blessing to the hearers.   J. W. Butterbaugh.
