 A New Organization

By request of brother Joshua Shultz and myself we met the dear members in Cedar county, Iowa, on the 3rd of September, to assist in organizing a church.  There was quite a full representation of members present.  The organization was effected by the choice of brother John Zuck chosen foreman for the church; brother B. F. Miller advanced to the second degree in the ministry and also appointed clerk; brother Noah Rudy was chosen for deacon.  The members applied the very appropriate name of Pleasant Prairie to the new organization.

They now have a membership of thirty-eight including three ministers in the second degree and two deacons.  They seem to possess the elements of success, as one readily notices they enjoy the confidence of those without; and, if the Lord will, by consistent live and an unwavering ministration of the preached word, they will succeed in building up a prosperous church and win many souls to Christ.  May God bless and prosper the Pleasant Prairie church.    D.
