From Campbell, Mich.

Aug. 14, wife and I left home to meet with the Brethren of the New Haven church in council.  Aug. 15 we met in the west part of that congregation, at the home of the Bro. S. Bollinger, where we met elders Isaiah Rairigh, and later D. Chambers, the elder in charge, for the purpose of organizing this part of the church into a working body (Montcalm County).  Good turnout of members unanimously agreed to do so.  Named the church the Crystal church; agreed to hold a choice for two deacons.  Three stood a tie, and were all duly installed into the office.  Also advanced Bro. S. Bollinger to the second degree of the the ministry. They now have three ministers in the second degree and three deacons, with Eld. Isaiah Rairigh, of Woodland, as their elder.

Aug. 16, in company with elders Rairigh and Chambers, and others, we went to Gladwin County, where we met with Eld. Perry McKimmey, from the southern part of this State.  Aug. 17 we met at the home of Bro. Enos Crowel in council, for the purpose of organizing that part of the church into a separate body.  Named the church the Beaverton church.  They held a choice for two deacons. The lot fell on our brethren D. B. Mate and T. Ordaway.  They now have one minister in the second degree and three deacons, with Eld. D. Chambers as their elders.  They stand in need of more help in the ministry, as Bro. Arnold is some fifteen miles form the main body of members. They are very desirous to have a minister move there, as well as others.  This is a new country, land is cheap, members with small means can do well here.  For particulars address D. B. Mote, Beaverton, Gladwin Co., Mich.
