Ansley, Nebr. – The members of the Muddy Valley church, Custer County, have just closed a series of meetings that have been a feast to their souls.  Bro. G. W. Stambaugh, of McCool Junction, came to us Dec. 30, and continued preaching each evening, and on Sundays, until Jan. 11, when were re-enforced by the coming of Bro. S. M. Forney, of Kearney, Nebr., and brethren A. W. Sanders and M. P. McCellion,  of Sartoria, Nebr.  On Friday, Jan. 12, 23 met in council and were organized into a church.  Elders G. M. Stambaugh and S. M. Forney were with us.  Upon investigation it was found that there are fifteen members located in this part of the State, who wished to form themselves into a church, to be known as the Muddy Valley church, Custer Co., Nebr.  Bro. James McCrea was elected to the ministry, and brethren May and D. M. Ross to the office of deacon.  All were duly installed into office, after which Bro. J. B. Mowery was appointed treasurer, sister E. A. Beal, clerk, and sister Polly Worden, solicitor.  On Saturday, Jan. 13, the brethren and sisters held their first love-feast, - likely the first ever held in this part of the State. The meeting was well attended, and enjoyed by all present. The meetings continued night and day, until the 17th, when we closed with four baptized and two more applicants to be baptized in the near future, making twenty members in all.

Arcadia. – on Sunday evening we closed a two weeks’ series of meetings, conducted by Eld. Levi Snell. The extremely cold weather and snow hindered many from attending.  The members were greatly strengthened and some deep impressions made on other which, we hope, may result in their conversion.  After services on Sunday morning, we made a call for more help in the ministry. Bro. Bro. Geo. V. Stern elected and with his wife, was installed.  Bro. C. V. Stern was advance to the second degree of the ministry. Since our last report one letter was granted. – J. J. Tawzer, Arcadia, Nebr., Jan. 4.
