From J. P. Moomaw. – According to appointment, we held our love-feast on 15th 16th of Sept. at house of brother Eli. Armagust, in Butler Co.  We surely had a feast of love. The congregations were large and order excellent.  Bro. C. Long officiated and did most of the preaching. Think the good Spirit above with many heart as the numerous hears indicated.

This church was organized in June, 1876, with the writer as their minister, and Bro. John Holler called to assist.  At this meeting the writer was ordained, Bro. Holler was advance to the second degree, and Oliver Shirk called to the labor in the Word, and John M. Wine chosen to the office of deacon.  The church is in a prosperous condition.  We are trying to contend for Gospel order of things. One addition by baptism and other beginning to long for Jesus.  Plenty of room here for brethren who are firm, active and  awake in word and doctrine.

Garrison, Neb., Feb . 20

We are glad to see the good news from the different church; perhaps it will be for interest to hear from us.  Our quarterly council was on the 4th of Feb. Love and union exists among the members.  The most important business  before the meeting was the changing of the name of this church from Platt Valley to Blue River.  Sent two delegates to district Meeting with unanimous instruction to stand and contend for the general Brotherhood and Annual Meeting.  we pray that peace and union may continue to reign in our midst.  J. P. Moomaw

Octavia, Nebr.— Sept 1 the Blue River Valley church met in council-meeting and unanimously decided to change the name of said church, to Octavia, which was approved by District Meeting. Sept. 15 and 16 we held our Communion meeting, which was well attended. Fifty- one surrounded the Lord's Table and partook of the emblems of the broken body and shed blood of Christ. We held our meeting in a tent. The weather was delightful and it indeed was a feast of love, and the Spirit of God seemed to prevail. Bro Fred Weidman was the only minister in attendance from abroad. Sept. 15 three more were baptized, making in all 23 since July 29. Others were near the kingdom —John G. Kilhefner, Oct. 13,
