The Buffalo County Historical Society archives has received the donation of minute books (1881 through 1956).  from the congregation which has now disbanded. The follow excerpts and summaries from those minutes related to the organization of the congregation and the charter membership.

“Wood River Church Organized May 28th, 1881 at the residence of Moses Y. Snavely. Comprising a territory of twenty miles each way from Kearney, Buffalo Co Neb.”
