James River. – This newly organized congregation met in called council July 9, at which time the important work of electing a minister and two deacons was done.  The choice for minister and two deacons was done.  The choice for minister to Bro. Alfred Kreps; for deacons brethren John and Alfred Whipple.  These brethren were duly installed. Elders J. C. Seibert and Fredric Culp were present to assist Eld Niccum in the work of the day.  A brother was also appointed to receive and hold contributions for a churchhouse, until such time as deemed expedient to build.  Our communion will be Aug. 8, beginning at 3 P. M. at the home of Bro. C. Blocher. – D. Leedy. Haven, N. Dak.,  July 21.

James River congregation have decided to dedicate our new churchhouse Aug. 25. Bro. S. N. McCann is to preach the dedicatory sermon. – Mrs. Alfred Kreps, Carrington, N. Dak., Aug. 8

 

After 1915 the northern section of James River territory developed its own nucleus with its own churchhouse, although ti remained part of the James River congregation; it was also called Columbia.
