Spring Creek Church

Spring Creek church met in council March 19, with Bro. J. H. Longenecker presiding.  Brethren John Witmer and Samuel Hertzler were also present.  After some discussion it was decided by a large majority, to divide the Spring Creek congregation into two parts. The west end. Which includes Hershey, Campbelltown and Hummelstown, retains the same name, Spring Creek.  At the same time Bro. John C. Zug was elected elder in charge for a term of three years. April 2 the new Spring Creek organization held its first council Bro. Harrison S. Gipe was elected church clerk, and the other offices were filed as given in a former report.  Our delegate to annual Meeting is Bro. J. C. Zug, while Brethren Milton Basehore and Benjamin Ebersole will represent us at the District Meeting.  the present membership is approximately 175. The Easter exercises at the Hummelstown house were held on Easter afternoon.  After a program by the children Bro. Simon Bucher addressed the school. In the evening similar exercise were held at the Spring Creek house, when Bro. Harry Nye, of Elizabethtown addressed us.  April 17 two letter of membership were received.  We look forward to greater things for the Spring Creek church and would ask all who are interested to join us in prayer for the furtherance of the cause of Christ in this part of the vineyard. – Verna Blauch, Palmyra, Pa., April 17
