From Charles’ Creek Church, Warren Co., Tenn.

Bro. George C. Bowman came to us in January 1886, and the Brethren organized a church of eight members, with Bro. Bowman as elder.  He came again on June 2, and also on Feb. 22, 1887.  He preached thirteen sermons, and appointed three ministers.  We had a love-feast long to be remembered.  We are all poor, and hungry for the word of God, and desire some of the traveling brethren to stop on their way and preach for us.  If any of the Brethren wish to stop at Tulahoma, and come to McMinnville, we will meet them at any time, on notice.  We live to read and hear from the Brethren through the Messenger.  We ask your prayers, dear brethren and sisters, that the Word of God may prevail in this section, for these are indeed dark days.  May the blessings of God rest upon this work!           Jennie Richardson.
