From Boon's Greek, Washington Co.. Tenn.

Feb. 7, I went to Middle Tennessee on mission work. I had seven meetings in Warren County, three at Wilson's school-house, one at Bro. A. H. Duncan's house and three in McMinnville. Good attention was given to the Word preached and I kindly treated by the people. At the latter place I preached in the Baptist church. Feb. 13, I went to West Tennessee, where I had twenty-two meetings, at six places,—nine at Field's school-house. Here a new church was organized, called the "New Hope." Seventeen member’s, including one minister in second degree,—Charles W. Davis, and one deacon, — comprise the new organization. A love-feast was held at the home of sister Gaunt. Here I baptized four,—two young men and two young women. One of the sisters had to be carried into the water on her chair, as, owing to rheumatism, she was not able to walk. A large number of spectators were present to witness the scene, and a solemn impression was seemingly made on their minds. It was the first time they ever saw baptism performed in that way and many of them seem to think it was the right way to baptize.

The brethren and sisters of the above place would like if ministers, passing that way, would stop and preach for them. They have a good country. For further particulars address John Davis, at McKenzie. George C. Bowman.
