Bethel Church, Texas

  Jam. 21, at P. M., with  Bro. J. A. Miller, of Manvel, Texas, in church, the members here were organized into a working congregation under the name of Bethel church, of Bee Co., Texas. The organization has twenty members, with three ministers in the second degree; two, in the first degree and one deacon.

  Officers were chosen as follows: Bro. Jacob Witmore, of Portland, Texas, Elder in charge; Bro. J. A. Strom, secretary; Bro. F. J. Miller, treasurer: Bro. Garnet Wales, agent for the Brethren literature; Sister Ethel Strohm, missionary solicitor; the writer, Messenger correspondent; Bro. A. J. Strohm, Sunday-school superintended; Brethren William H. Strohm, Geo. E. Wales and F. J. Miller, trustees; Brethren Fred E. Strohm, Geo. E. Wales and F. J. Miller, committee for the Brethren mutual Insurance Company of Kansas.

  After organizing we had a brief examination service, and adjourned to meet again at 7 P. M. for a love feast, which was very much enjoyed by all.  Bro. J. s. Miller officiated.  All members were present for all these services, in each of which good Spirit prevailed.  We have a fine body of members; have Sunday-school and preaching each Sunday; are located abut eighteen miles form Kenedy and twelve miles from Green, both of which are railroad towns.  The address of all the members is Kenedy, R.
